ARTS 4783/5783 CRITICAL ISSUES IN EMA 

Fall 2022: (COLLABORATIONS IN MOVING IMAGE + SOUND)

Description

This course serves as a special topics course for Experimental Media Arts. The course number will cover a set of rotating focuses on specialty research areas each semester.

Critical Issues in EMA (Collaborations in Moving Image + Sound) Students will build on their experience in Moving Image or Sound, coming together during this intensive project-driven course to collaboratively develop substantial new creative works. The projects will reflect the collaborators’ research interests and will be created with the goal of contributing to the larger film, sound, and media arts festival circuit/community.

Throughout this course, students will build a deeper theoretical and practical understanding of creating for the twenty-first century, set within a context of historical and contemporary studio and post-studio practices.
